A pendant light, sometimes called a drop or suspender, is a lone light fixture that hangs from the ceiling usually suspended by a cord, chain, or metal rod. The first question that should be asked when a person is looking for a new pendant light is where it will end up. A pendant light that might look fabulous over a casual kitchen island could look far less attractive when placed in a formal dining room. Pendant lights are certainly attractive items with a lot of aesthetic appeal, but they also serve a very practical purpose and illuminate the space.
